Life Education

We’ve had one session in the life education caravan with Claire on Tuesday. We were given a Warrant of Fitness activity booklet which had a lot of information and activities.

My 3 questions are:
Q1. How much fruit and vegetables should we         have a day?
You should have 2 fruits and 3 vegetables a day.
2. What drinks should you drink instead of fizzy drinks?
The drink you have to drink instead of fizzy drink is water or juice.

3. Why do we have to eat healthy food?
We have to eat healthy food to grow and stay healthy.

Netbook Reflection

Hi my name is Veisinia and I am a 12 year old student and I am a year 7 student in room 6 at Panmure Bridge School.

A positive thing about netbooks is that we can comment on other people’s blogs and work on our blogs.

The negative thing about our netbooks is that sometimes when teachers are talking, students pretend to listen but when the teacher faces somewhere else they play games.

The unusual thing about our netbooks is that sometimes our internet is slow and for some of the others their internet works faster.

A Girl's Head

In it there is a flower
and a project
for doing away with silly face lessons.

And there is a
frangipani which shall be first.

And there is
an entirely new daisy,
an entirely new rose,
an entirely new sunflower.

There is a swimming pool,
that flows upwards.

There is a snake.

There is an antiquity

And it cannot be held back.

I believe that only what cannot be held back
is a head.

There is much promise
in the fact
that so many people have heads.

Day and night

Day and Night

In the day the children wake up  drowsily for school and parents drive to work on a cold, frosty morning.

In the night the kids do their homework and parents do some planning for the summer holidays.

Wood Tech at Tamaki College

I had a fantastic time at Tamaki College in wood work class. It was really fun sand papering the plane but it was also tiring and I almost broke my finger.

This is just to say

This is just to say

I have taken
a lot of strawberries
that were in the
backyard.

and which
my older brother was probably
going to use to
make a special juice.

Forgive me
they were scrumptious
very yummy
and fruity.

I asked the little boy who cannot see

I asked the little boy who cannot see

I asked the little boy who cannot see,
‘And what is colour like?’
‘Why pink,’ said he,
‘Is like the slimy, wiggly touch of a worm.
In the sky is the sun that is shining on me.
Blue is the ocean going swish, swish.
White is like the cold fog that comes creeping in the morning.
Orange is the juicy fruit that I eat for my lunch.
Green is the grass under my feet as I run around the field,
And purple is the plum that is sweet and juicy.

Plane distance

This graph shows the distance our planes had traveled. My graph shows that the bigger the wingspan the shorter our planes traveled. Some of our planes went off into the air and then turned back to us which was funny.

Swimming Time

Swimming Time!

Yipee! It was a nice hot weather for a swim. I couldn’t wait for a swim. By the time my group and I hopped in the pool, it was freezing cold. I felt like I was trapped in the fridge.

We were shaking and trying to get warm in the pool so Mr Burton stared at us and said that we had to jump up and down so that we could get warm instead of playing around to get warm.

Finally when we all got warm we had to learn how to float on our back so that if we get tired in any pools we could just turn around and float on our back. We all had to show Ms. Kirkpatrick and Mr. Burton if we knew how to float on our backs. When it was my turn to float all I could see was the top of the swimming pool roof. By the time we all had a turn at floating on our backs we were all quite good at floating on our backs.

Then we all had to do some freestyling. The really hard thing was that we had to breath 1,2, and breathe on 3. It was a little hard when it came time to breathe. Finally we got the idea.

When we all knew how to float on our back we then had to do handstands, it was very hard because I couldn’t hold onto my breath. We challenged other people at handstands. The winners had to challenge each other and the losers had to just watch. The winner was...Maliana. She was very good at doing handstands but she wanted to challenge me but I lost.

I had a very nice fun day at the swimming pools hopefully we do some more next year.

I know someone who can...

I know someone who can
do the handstands.
I know someone who can
do the bridge.
I know someone who can
do the superman s with fingers.
I know someone who can
write fast.
I know someone who can
run fast.
I know someone who can
read a lot of books.
I know someone who can
mess up.
I know someone who can
type fast.
I know someone who can
eat spicy chips for 2 minutes.
I know someone who can
do the flip on the trampoline.
I know someone who can
play on the computer for an hour.
I know someone who can
click their fingers and that person is
