Read the poem

Complete these sentences:
A simile is: a sentence that uses the word like or as.

A metaphor is: When you say something that can’t be true. (E.G- She has a heart of a lion)

Identify the simile: Zoom goes the spoon like a typhoon.

Identify the 3 metaphor:
1. Marshmallow boats
2. Chocolate sea
3. Pink debris

Think of an everyday object that has some moving parts e.g. a clock

Write your own poem describing the object using a mixture of simile and metaphor.  Keep it simple and short.

Monkeys screeching
in the scary fun
humongous  jungle

Oo oo oo a in front of me
Boom goes the banana
in someones mouth like a
ball shooting out of a rocket

and the other monkeys
yell for more bananas.
